PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT and CONTINUING EDUCATION
FEES AND OTHER COSTS

2013-2014 PD/CE Fee Structure:

PD/CE fees are determined by the number of PD/CE workshop sessions offered at a given location on a given day, and by the length of each workshop. Fees quoted below apply to all PD/CE topics, and to all professional audiences, including faculty, administrators, or professional or non-professional staff.

Fees are structured to encourage whole-faculty or whole-staff training. Presenter fees are not contingent upon the number of participants who attend a workshop session, and there is no limit on the number of participants who can attend each workshop session. See, however, the note below on avoiding handout fees for workshops involving more than 25 participants, and see workshop descriptions for recommended numbers of participants.

Fees are structured to encourage workshop sessions of sufficient length for maximum effectiveness; for example, the fee for one three-hour workshop is $900, whereas the fee for three one-hour workshops on three different days is $1800. See workshop descriptions for recommended workshop lengths.

See scheduling suggestions for schools for ways to combine programs for administrators, faculty, professional and non-professional staff, and students, to maximize effectiveness and ensure that each segment of the school community receives the most relevant information, while reducing total costs.

Presenter Fees:

First hour of first PD/CE workshop session: $600. Each additional hour or partial hour for sessions exceeding 60 minutes: $150

First hour of second* PD/CE workshop session: $500. Each additional hour or partial hour for sessions exceeding 60 minutes: $150

First hour of third* PD/CE workshop session: $450. Each additional hour or partial hour for sessions exceeding 60 minutes: $150

First hour of fourth, fifth, sixth,...* PD/CE workshop session: $400. Each additional hour or partial hour for sessions exceeding 60 minutes: $150

*Note: to qualify for discounted fees as listed above, additional sessions must be on same topic, given at same location, to similar audience. For example, separate workshops might be provided for elementary, middle, and high school teachers, and for professional non-teaching staff on the same day.

Examples:

Two 90 minute PD sessions on bullying prevention, both to faculty members, would be $600+$150 = $750 for the first session, plus $500+$150 = $650 for the second session, for a total of $1400.00.

One four hour session would be $600 + (3x$150) = $1050.00

Possible Additional Charges:

There is no charge for mileage, travel expenses, or location within New Jersey. If presentation requires a hotel stay, the cost of hotel will be submitted for reimbursement or added to invoice.

There is no charge for issuing PD certificates, with the exception of mailing charges if certificates must be mailed after the workshop to attendees at separate mailing addresses. Schools/districts are asked to mail or e-mail list of attendees to Spectrum Diversity LLC at least two days' prior to scheduled workshop so that certificates can be prepared in advance and distributed on site.

For workshops involving 25 or fewer participants, the cost of handouts is included in the presenter fee. For workshops involving more than 25 participants, the handout fee ranges up to $5/participant. The handout fee for Spectrum Diversity's basic Bullying & Bias: Prevention and Response professional development workshop is $2.50/participant, regardless of the length of the workshop. Schools can avoid the handout fee by duplicating most of the handouts themselves; schools interested in this option must make arrangements with Dr. Rodríguez Rust for pdf delivery and handout pickup prior to the date of the workshop.
